Privacy Policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026
The short version. You can play without an account. If you sign in with Discord or Steam, we get your account's ID, name and avatar (and with Steam, whether your profile shows a VAC ban or a limited account), and never your email, password, friends, servers, games or messages. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use advertising or analytics trackers. We keep some technical data to make matches work, keep them fair and protect the servers.
1. Who we are
Strike Force ("we", "us") is a free, non-commercial fan project: a CS-style shooter that runs in a web browser at strikeforce.fun. We are responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. What we collect
When you sign in with Discord
- Your Discord user ID, your display name (or username) and your avatar. We copy the avatar to our own server, so other players never load it from Discord.
- The date your Discord account was created, which is part of the Discord ID.
We ask Discord only for the identify permission. We read your profile once at sign-in and then immediately cancel the access Discord gave us. We never receive your email address, password, servers, friends or messages on Discord. A session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days.
When you sign in with Steam
- Your SteamID, which Steam's own sign-in page confirms to us.
- The name and avatar of your Steam profile, which we read from your public Steam profile at sign-in. We copy the avatar to our own server, so other players never load it from Steam.
- Whether your Steam profile shows a VAC ban and whether your account is a limited one. We keep these to protect matches from cheating; only our staff see them.
- The date your Steam account was created, if Steam makes it available; otherwise the date you first signed in with it.
You sign in on Steam's own page, and Steam tells us only your SteamID. We never receive your Steam password, email address, friends, games, inventory or messages, and we get no access to your Steam account. A session cookie keeps you signed in for up to 30 days.
Game and account data
- Your nickname (for guests, the one you type in).
- Ratings, ranks, matches played, wins and losses, and match statistics such as kills, deaths, assists, headshots, damage, score and time played; your recent matches.
- Leaderboard entries, including Surf times and Chicken Coop scores.
- Your preferences, such as whether your avatar and rating are shown, and the items you have equipped.
Friends and social features
- Your friends list, friend requests, blocked players, who may message you, and players you recently played with.
- Your online status and when you were last seen, your party and your "Looking to Play" status.
- The official Strike Force account is added to the friends list of every signed-in player and can see their online status.
Chat and messages
Match chat, party chat, Surf room chat and private messages between friends, including the text as you typed it before our filter. We use them to deliver your messages and to moderate the community.
Device and connection data
- Your IP address.
- A random device identifier stored in your browser.
- A device fingerprint: a code computed from technical properties of your browser and device (such as graphics card, screen, time zone, language, processor and memory), together with the name of your graphics card and whether you play on a computer or a phone. We use it for anti-cheat and to enforce bans.
- Connection quality, such as ping and packet loss, and the country your connection comes from (as reported by our network provider).
- On phones, performance diagnostics: device and browser type, graphics card, screen size, memory, loading time, frame rate and error messages. We use them to make the game run better on phones.
Fair play data
Anti-cheat data from matches (such as positions, aim and shooting statistics and ping), signals that cheating software may be in use, player reports, mutes, bans and moderator notes.
Data stored in your browser
We save your settings, key bindings, nickname, device identifier and a few "already seen" flags in your browser's local storage, so the game remembers them. Our server sets two cookies that are strictly necessary: one keeps you signed in, and one protects the sign-in process (it lasts 10 minutes). We do not use advertising, tracking or analytics cookies.
3. Why we use it
- To run the game: matchmaking, accounts, ratings, leaderboards, friends, parties and chat. This is necessary to provide the Service you asked for (our Terms).
- To keep games fair and safe: anti-cheat, preventing ban evasion and multiple accounts, moderating chat and reports, and protecting the servers from abuse. This is our legitimate interest, and the interest of every player, in fair matches and a safe community.
- To fix and improve the game: diagnostics, connection quality and error reports. This is our legitimate interest in a game that works well.
- To meet legal obligations, when the law requires it.
Our anti-cheat can automatically kick or ban a player when it detects cheating. If this happens to you and you think it is a mistake, you can ask for a human review at [email protected].
We do not sell personal data, rent it, or use it for advertising or profiling for marketing.
4. What other people can see
- Other players in a match see your name, your avatar (unless you hide it), your platform, rating, badge, equipped items and ping.
- Your profile can be opened by anyone and shows your name, your avatar (unless you hide it), when your account was created, your ratings, statistics and recent matches.
- Leaderboards on the site show names with ratings, times or scores.
- Our Discord server shows leaderboards with the names and ratings of top players. If "Show my rating on Discord" is on, our bot also gives your Discord account a rating role on our server; you can turn this off in the game.
- Friend invite links show your name and avatar when the link is previewed.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal data only with the services that help us run Strike Force, and only as much as they need:
- Valve (Steam): for signing in with Steam. Your browser goes to Steam's sign-in page, and our server reads your public Steam profile at sign-in.
- Discord: for signing in, for our Discord community bot, and for the member count on the main page, which your browser loads directly from Discord (so Discord receives your IP address and browser information).
- Cloudflare: our network and security provider, through which all traffic to strikeforce.fun passes.
- Our hosting provider: our servers are located in the Netherlands (EU).
- A cloud storage provider, which stores backups of our servers.
- Google Fonts: the Chicken Coop page loads a font from Google, which receives your IP address.
- Authorities, if we are required to by law, or if it is necessary to protect the rights and safety of our players or others.
Discord, Valve, Cloudflare and Google may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States, under their own safeguards for international transfers.
6. How long we keep it
- Sign-in sessions: up to 30 days.
- Chat logs (match, party and Surf chat): 14 days.
- Private messages: 30 days.
- Account, ratings, statistics and friends: for as long as your account exists, until you ask us to delete them.
- Device identifiers, fingerprints, anti-cheat records and ban records: as long as needed to keep games fair and to enforce bans. Records connected with a ban are kept for as long as the ban lasts, which can be permanent.
- IP addresses: in security and server logs and in anti-cheat records, for as long as needed for these purposes. Surf leaderboard entries are stored with the IP address they were sent from, to detect leaderboard abuse.
- Diagnostics from phones: in server logs, only as long as needed to fix problems.
Deleted data may remain in backups until those backups are replaced.
7. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (for example, in the European Union or the United Kingdom), you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have your data deleted;
- restrict or object to how we use your data, including where we rely on legitimate interests;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
To use any of these rights, write to [email protected]. To make sure the request is really yours, we may ask you to confirm it through the Discord or Steam account you sign in with. We will answer within one month. When we delete an account, we may keep the minimum needed to enforce an active ban.
In the game you can also hide your avatar, turn off your rating on Discord, choose who can send you private messages, block players, and sign out at any time. To clear what the game saved in your browser, clear this site's data in your browser settings.
8. Children
Signing in is only for people who are at least 13 years old (or older, if the law of their country requires it). If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has signed in or given us personal data, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.
9. Security
All connections to Strike Force are encrypted (HTTPS). We store only a secure hash of your session token, cancel Discord's access right after sign-in (Steam's sign-in gives us no access to your account at all), and limit access to personal data: moderators do not see IP addresses or account IDs. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as Strike Force changes. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above, and for important changes we will let players know in the game or on our Discord server.
11. Contact
